As is known, last week there was a regular meeting of the Council for Coordination of Scientific Research of the Republic of Azerbaijan, chaired by Ulker Sattarova, Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education.

At the meeting, information was discussed that had been submitted on the basis of an official letter sent to institutions regarding dissertation topics from previous years. In total, more than 1,000 topics, proposed by 49 scientific and higher‑education institutions and systematized by the Council’s secretariat, were approved by open voting, taking into account the opinions and suggestions of the Council members.

What are our scientists writing about? What are the topics of their scientific works? How are these topics discussed in the Council? In an interview with “Azerbaijani Teacher”, one of the participants in the meeting — Dr. Konul Bakhshalieva, Head of the Laboratory of Microbiological Biotechnology at the Institute of Microbiology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan — shared her impressions of the meeting and her thoughts on the issues under discussion.
