An event dedicated to March 27 - Science Day was held at the Institute of Microbiology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the event, the Director General of the Institute of Microbiology, Corresponding Member of NAA, Panakh Muradov reminded about the Decree of the President of the country Ilham Aliyev dated April 9, 2018 "On the establishment of "Science Day" in the Republic of Azerbaijan" and noted that according to the document, March 27 is celebrated annually in our country as Science Day. Speaking about the attention and care given to science in our republic, the scientist emphasized that this tradition, established by the national leader Heydar Aliyev, is successfully continued today by the head of the country.

The scientist spoke about the important measures implemented in recent years in the country towards raising the authority of science, increasing the importance of science in the development of society, and stimulating scientific activity. The scientist noted that science has been given great importance throughout history, and today science has reached its highest stage of development.

At the end of his speech, the scientist congratulated the entire team on this historic day and wished them success in their future activities.

After this, a number of employees of the institute - the head of the Department of Education, Information and Communications, PhD in Biological sciences Vusala Khalilzadeh, leading researcher of the Laboratory of Phytopathogenic Microorganisms and Biological Control, PhD in Biological sciences Shahla Babayeva, senior researcher of the Laboratory of Biologically Active Substances, PhD in Biological sciences Vafa Hasanova and a researcher PhD in Biological sciences Sabina Jafarzadeh was awarded a Certificate of Honor and a cash prize.
